Third Annual Art Show!!
After years of wanting and dreaming up a space wonderful enough to put on an annual art show to showcase the hard and creative work of our students, it has finally been found in our newish home on South Main Street!! Our Third annual art show will be held on Thursday, May 23rd from 3:30-7:00pm, and we hope you all come to check out the wonderful artwork as well as the studio.
In order for a student to qualify to submit an art piece for the show we ask that they have attended one of the following variations of classes and/or camps within the 2022-23 year:
A minimum of 2 school year sessions of classes 2023-2024 (Fall, Winter, Late Winter, and/or Spring)
Three full weeks of Half-Day Camps, or 2 full weeks of Full-Day Camps
One school year session + one week of camp
We want to ensure that artists participating in the show have not only begun building a good foundation of class time creating, problem solving, and exploring with us, but also have been able to begin building a small portfolio of artworks that they have made at Rebel. This would be similar to dancers or musicians attending classes all year and then performing in the end of year recital, or athletes competing in the final tournament. Keep in mind that this is free of competition and judgement, all artists that meet the minimum requirement of class time may submit any single art piece of their choice to be displayed in the studio show.
We understand that not every student will have attended the qualifying amount of classes and/or camps to submit an artwork for the show for a multitude of reasons, but we hope that everyone comes to see and support the beautiful artwork and artists as it will hopefully inspire interest for young artists to participate next year. There is something truly wonderful that happens when a young artist sees their artwork in it’s most complete state of being framed or mounted and displayed as intended; it's transformative and such a wonderful boost of self-confidence.
