A Two-Part Ceramics Experience for Teens

Curious about ceramics but not sure where to start? Join us for a fun, hands-on two-part Mini Ceramic Experience designed specifically for teens!

Over two Friday afternoons, students will get a behind-the-scenes introduction to the ceramics studio and try out two of our favorite ways to work with clay.

Week 1: Hand Building + Studio Tour
Students will tour our ceramics studio, learn the basics of working with clay, and get an introduction to hand-building techniques. They’ll experiment with shaping and constructing their own ceramic piece while learning about the creative possibilities of clay.

Week 2: Introduction to the Pottery Wheel
Students will get behind the wheel and learn the fundamentals of throwing clay. We’ll cover how to center clay, open the form, and begin shaping a piece on the wheel. No previous experience necessary!

This is a great opportunity for teens who are new to ceramics or curious about trying something different. Come explore the studio, get your hands dirty, and discover which side of ceramics you love most!
